Avinash Tiwary joins Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari in Imtiaz Ali’s romantic Netflix series: Report

Avinash Tiwary is set to collaborate with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, six years after their critically acclaimed project Laila Majnu. This time, the duo joins forces for a Netflix romantic drama series, which is tentatively titled O Saathi Rey. According to a report by PeepingMoon, the show will feature Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari in pivotal roles, with Ahsaas Channa also part of the ensemble cast. Production is expected to begin soon, and while Imtiaz Ali will serve as the writer and showrunner, the directorial responsibilities will be handled by his brother, Arif Ali.

The series, produced under Imtiaz Ali’s banner Window Seat Films, is described as an intense and emotionally driven romantic drama. The report speculates that the series delves into the complexities of an extramarital affair, with Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari playing a married couple. Avinash Tiwary’s character is said to disrupt their relationship, adding layers of intrigue and tension to the narrative. The unconventional pairing and compelling storyline promise a fresh take on romance, offering viewers a thought-provoking experience.

This marks Avinash Tiwary’s return to the romantic genre after exploring diverse roles in projects like Bulbbul, The Girl on the Train, and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. It will also be his sixth collaboration with Netflix India, solidifying his presence on the streaming platform. Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali, known for his iconic romantic films like Jab We Met and Tamasha, continues to expand his creative horizons with this series.
