Actor Anup Soni condemns misleading deepfake video amid rising concerns

Soni swiftly denounced the video, clarifying that he has no association with it.

Following the viral spread of the video, Anup Soni took proactive steps to condemn the act, releasing a statement to clarify that he had no association with the doctored content. This incident underscored the dangers and widespread impact of deepfake technology, highlighting the potential for misleading representations of celebrities that can deceive the public. After the video became viral, Soni himself issued a warning stating, “This is a completely fake video and we all have to be alert as to how and to what extent things are getting manipulated these days. The voice totally seems like I’m only saying. Even video clips are from Crime Patrol. Please be alert people!!”

Unfortunately, Soni is not the only star who has been targeted by deepfake makers. Recently, various high-profile actors, athletes, and politicians, including Ranveer Singh, Rashmika Mandana, Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan, Amit Shah, and others, have had their likenesses used in similar ways, frequently for false or malevolent intentions. People, particularly victims and specialists, have emphasized the critical need for improved awareness and the creation of remedies to prevent the surge in deepfakes.
